The Felco 420 Precision Trimming Scissors are designed for professional gardeners and hobbyists who require surgical accuracy when pruning ornamental flowers and delicate shrubs. These scissors provide the key benefit of effortless, clean cuts through a non-stick coating that resists sap buildup, though users should note that the specialized, long-blade design is optimized for precision work rather than heavy-duty branch pruning.

No. These scissors are designed for delicate ornamental and flower trimming. Using them on thick, woody branches may damage or misalign the precision blades.
Simply wipe them with a damp, soft cloth. Avoid using abrasive scouring pads that might scratch the markings or the blade coating.
The ergonomic design is ambidextrous, though the blade alignment is standard. Most users find the soft-touch grip comfortable regardless of dominant hand.
The coating is durable for standard gardening tasks, but repeated contact with grit or sharp metal edges can eventually scratch it.
They provide a secondary anchor point for your fingers, which increases control and reduces the amount of force needed to complete a cut.
Clean the blade surface with an alcohol-based wipe or resin remover to clear sap accumulation.
Check the blade pivot tension; if loose, adjust the center bolt slightly, or check for dulling of the cutting edge.
These scissors arrive ready for immediate use; no assembly is required. To maintain peak performance, wipe the blades down with a clean, dry cloth after every use to remove botanical residues. If sap buildup occurs despite the coating, use a mild solvent or a dedicated resin remover. Store the tool in a dry place to prevent corrosion and use the safety locking mechanism when the tool is not in active use. Avoid cutting wire or hard objects to preserve the edge alignment of the precision blades.
