Product Information

Full details

The Plasticine Bucket Set is an ideal creative tool for children and hobbyists looking for a versatile, reusable modeling medium. It offers the classic benefit of a non-hardening clay that never dries out, allowing for endless projects and fine motor skill development; however, users should note that because it remains soft, it is not suitable for creating permanent, structural models that require hardening.

FAQs

Does Plasticine eventually harden?

No, Plasticine is specifically designed to remain soft and non-hardening, so it will never dry out.

Is the bucket safe for storage?

Yes, the bucket is a sturdy plastic container designed to keep the clay organized and protected from dust when not in use.

Can I mix different colors together?

Yes, you can mix colors to create new shades, though please note that once mixed, they cannot be separated back into the original individual colors.

Is the clay non-toxic?

Plasticine is designed for safe crafting, but it should not be ingested. Always supervise young children during use.

What are the dimensions of the bucket?

The bucket measures 15.5 x 13.5 x 13.5cm, making it compact enough for storage while holding all included accessories.

Troubleshooting

Clay feels too firm to model

Knead the clay in your hands for a few minutes; the warmth from your palms will soften the material.

Clay has picked up dust or hair

You can usually pick out large particles, or fold the clay repeatedly to incorporate minor dust, or use a clean piece of Plasticine to dab and lift the debris off the surface.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Never dries out or cracks over time
  • Easy to store with the included carry handle bucket
  • Encourages repeated play and creativity
  • Suitable for various skill levels

Cons

  • Does not harden, so models are not permanent
  • Can leave oily residues on certain surfaces if handled excessively
  • Soft texture may be difficult to use for highly intricate structural details

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To begin using the set, simply remove the sticks from the bucket and knead the clay in your hands to warm it up, which makes it easier to manipulate. Since Plasticine is an oil-based medium, it is recommended to use it on a clean, non-porous surface like a plastic mat or tray to avoid staining wood or fabric. After use, ensure all clay pieces are returned to the bucket and the lid is secured to prevent dust or debris from sticking to the surface. Store in a cool, dry place to maintain the optimal consistency of the clay.
