The Milward Closed-End Concealed Zip in Dark Brown is designed for home dressmakers and sewing enthusiasts looking for a seamless, professional finish on garments such as skirts, dresses, and trousers. This 40cm nylon coil zip offers a lightweight, discreet fastening that blends effortlessly into your fabric for an invisible look. While it is perfect for most light-to-medium weight textiles, users should note that the no. 3 coil design is intended specifically for dressmaking and is not suitable for heavy-duty upholstery or thick denim applications.

No, this is a no. 3 coil zip designed for light-to-medium weight dressmaking fabrics and will not withstand the strain of heavy outerwear.
Yes, Milward zips are manufactured for standard garment use and are designed to maintain their color through regular laundry cycles.
While it is possible to use a standard zipper foot, a dedicated concealed (invisible) zipper foot is highly recommended for professional results.
The slider is designed to lock when the pull tab is folded down against the zipper tape.
Yes, but always use a medium-low temperature and a pressing cloth to prevent melting the nylon coil.
Ensure no fabric threads are caught in the teeth and check that the zipper tape is not puckered from the seam allowance.
Adjust your zipper foot position slightly closer to the teeth or increase the presser foot pressure.
Use the adjustable stopper feature to move the end point higher up the tape and trim the excess material.
For optimal results, ensure your fabric is stabilized with lightweight interfacing if working with thin or slippery materials. When shortening the zipper, pull the slider to the desired length, then use a sturdy thread to create a new bar tack stopper over the coil teeth at the bottom. Once you have created the new stopper, you can safely trim the excess tape. For care, this garment can typically be machine washed; however, it is recommended to keep the zip in the closed position during washing and drying to prevent the slider from snagging on other items.
