These Prym 85274 steel safety pins are designed for universal use in sewing, quilting, patchwork, and various everyday applications. FAQs

What material are these safety pins made of?

These safety pins are made of durable steel with a rust-protective coating.

How many safety pins are in a pack?

Each pack contains 1000 pieces.

Are these pins suitable for heavy-duty fabrics?

Yes, the slimly-polished tips and strong steel construction make them suitable for use with thicker materials.

Can I get these pins in colors other than silver?

Prym also offers these safety pins in black coating, though this specific product is silver-colored.

What sizes are available?

These safety pins are available in sizes 19mm, 23mm, 27mm, 38mm, 50mm, and 57mm. This pack is for the 38mm size.

Will the sealing capsule snag on fabric?

No, the pins feature a burr-free sealing capsule designed without sharp edges to ensure smooth opening and closing without damaging fabric.

Troubleshooting

Pin does not close securely.

Ensure the pin is fully engaged and the fabric is not too thick for the pin's size. Check for any debris on the clasp mechanism.

Pin snags or tears delicate fabric.

Ensure the pin tip is smooth and the sealing capsule is burr-free. Use a larger size pin if necessary, or test on a scrap piece of fabric first.

Pin shows signs of rust.

This is rare due to the rust protection. If it occurs, gently clean the affected area with a soft cloth. Store pins in a dry environment to prevent future rust.
