While technically possible, it negates the benefits of shielding. These plugs are optimized for use with Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) CAT6A cables to achieve their full performance potential.

You will need a specialized RJ45 crimping tool for shielded connectors, a cable stripper, and wire cutters or strippers.

CAT6A cable, including when terminated with these plugs, supports up to 100 meters (328 feet) for 10Gbps Ethernet connections.

Proper installation requires the metal housing of the plug to make secure contact with the cable's outer shielding and to be fully crimped onto the cable jacket for grounding and interference blocking.

Stranded wire (22-27 AWG) offers more flexibility, while solid wire (22-26 AWG) provides a more rigid connection. Both are supported, but the type of wire used in your cable will determine the specific AWG range to match.

Double-check wire order against T568A/T568B standard. Ensure all wires are making solid contact with the plug's pins and that the cable jacket is properly seated within the connector's strain relief.

Verify that the shielding is properly connected and grounded. Ensure no wires are shorting. Check that the cable pairs remain twisted as close to the termination point as possible. Re-terminate if necessary.

Ensure the plug housing is fully crimped and that no debris is obstructing the connector or the port. Check for bent pins on the connector.

Inspect the termination for loose connections, incorrect wire pairing, or insufficient shielding contact. Re-terminate the plug with careful attention to detail and correct wire order.
