Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Silentnight Orthopaedic Pet Bed typically arrives ready to use.
- Unpack: Remove the bed from its packaging. It may be compressed; allow a few hours for the foam to fully expand to its intended shape.
- Placement: Choose a quiet, comfortable spot in your home away from high traffic areas or drafts. Ensure the non-slip base is directly on the floor.
- Introduction: Gently introduce your pet to the new bed. You might place a familiar blanket or toy on it to encourage them.
Compatibility
This specific variant is the Small size.
- Pets: Ideal for small dog breeds, puppies, or cats.
- Conditions: Particularly suited for pets with arthritis, hip dysplasia, joint pain, or general mobility issues due to its orthopaedic support and easy access.
- Environment: Suitable for indoor use on various floor types, including hard floors, thanks to its non-slip base.
Care Instructions
Regular care will extend the life and hygiene of your pet bed.
- Cover Removal: Unzip the cover around the perimeter of the bed to remove it.
- Machine Washing: Machine wash the removable cover on a low heat setting. It is crucial to zip the cover closed before washing to protect the zipper and fabric.
- Drying: DO NOT tumble dry the cover. Air dry flat or hang dry. Tumble drying can damage the fabric and backing.
- Inner Foam: The inner foam core should not be washed. If it becomes soiled, spot clean with a damp cloth and mild pet-safe detergent, then air dry completely.
- Regular Maintenance: Vacuum the bed regularly to remove pet hair and dander. Address spills or accidents promptly to prevent stains and odours. Ensure the bed is completely dry before reassembly to prevent mould or mildew.
