Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Real Techniques Setting Brush requires no complex setup. It's ready to use straight out of the packaging. We recommend giving new brushes a quick wash before first use to remove any manufacturing residue.
Compatibility
- Highlighters: Compatible with both cream and powder highlighter formulas.
- Setting Powders: Works effectively with loose and pressed setting powders.
- Other Products: While primarily designed for highlighter and setting powder, it can also be used for precise contouring with powder products or for applying eyeshadow base.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life of your brush and ensures optimal performance:
- Weekly Cleaning: For best hygiene and performance, clean your brush at least once a week, or more frequently if used daily.
- Cleaning Method: Wash the bristles with a gentle brush cleanser or mild soap and lukewarm water. Avoid hot water, which can damage the bristles or glue.
- Lather and Rinse: Gently lather the bristles in your palm, working the soap through. Rinse thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear and no product residue remains.
- Reshape: Gently squeeze out excess water and reshape the bristles to their original form.
- Air Dry: Lay the brush flat or hang it with the bristles facing downwards (if using a brush drying rack) to air dry completely. Avoid drying it upright, as water can seep into the ferrule and loosen the glue.
- Storage: Store your brush in a clean, dry place, ideally in a brush holder or pouch, to protect the bristles from dust and damage.
