Extended Product Information

FAQs

Are these shears suitable for left-handed users?

The PX-M2 series includes specific models designed for ergonomic efficiency; please check the product designation to ensure it matches your hand orientation.

Can I replace the blades if they wear out?

Yes, Bahco professional pruning shears feature replaceable parts, including blades, which helps extend the life of the tool.

How do I sharpen the PX-M2?

Use a fine-grit diamond sharpener or sharpening stone, following the original bevel angle of the blade for the best results.

What is the maximum cutting capacity?

The PX-M2 is designed for mid-sized branches and delicate stems; avoid attempting to cut branches that exceed the manufacturer's recommended diameter to prevent blade damage.

Do these shears require regular maintenance?

Yes, keeping the blades clean, sharpened, and oiled will ensure they continue to perform at their professional standard.

Troubleshooting

Shears feel stiff during operation

Check the pivot bolt for debris and apply a drop of high-quality machine oil to the pivot point.

Cuts are ragged or crushed

The blades may have dulled; use a professional-grade sharpening tool or whetstone to restore the edge, or check for blade misalignment.

Build-up of sap on blades

Use a specialized solvent or warm, soapy water to remove sticky sap, then dry thoroughly and re-oil.

  • Provides clean, precise cuts that support plant health
  • Ergonomic handle design fits naturally in the hand
  • Robust build quality suitable for professional environments

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Bahco PX-M2 shears, it is essential to keep them clean and sharp. After each use, wipe the blades with a soft cloth to remove sap and debris. For long-term storage, apply a thin coat of mineral oil to the blade surfaces to prevent oxidation. While the shears are built for durability, avoid using them on materials other than live plant tissue, such as wire or garden stakes, to maintain the edge of the blade. Check the pivot bolt periodically to ensure the blades remain tight and responsive.
