While comfortable and supportive for day hikes, their lightweight, athletic design might offer less ankle support and cushioning for very heavy loads on extended multi-day trips compared to traditional, heavier backpacking boots.

GORE-TEX® is a durable membrane. If your feet are consistently getting wet in wet conditions, check for obvious damage, excessive wear, or if water is entering from the top of the shoe rather than leaking through the material.

The Moab Speed 2 features improved breathability, but it is still a waterproof shoe. For extremely hot and dry conditions, a non-waterproof hiking shoe might offer better ventilation. However, they are generally comfortable for most hiking temperatures.

The Moab Speed 2 is designed with more athletic influences, featuring increased foam cushioning, lighter weight, and enhanced breathability inspired by trail running shoes, while still offering robust waterproofing and traction.

The GORE-TEX® membrane is designed for long-term durability. With proper care, the waterproofing should last for the expected lifespan of the shoe, typically several years of regular use.

While they incorporate features from trail running shoes, they are primarily designed as hiking shoes. For dedicated trail running, a shoe specifically built for that purpose with more flexibility and aggressive tread might be preferred.

Ensure the shoe is properly laced and that water is not entering from the ankle collar. Check for any damage to the GORE-TEX® membrane or excessive wear on the shoe.

Ensure the shoes are adequately broken in. Try different sock thicknesses or consider insoles for a customized fit. Adjust lacing to relieve pressure points.

Clean the outsole of mud and debris. The Vibram® TC5+ offers excellent grip, but extreme mud or ice can still reduce performance. Ensure the sole is not excessively worn.
