Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Cut the matting to the desired size for your bench or area.
- Place the matting with the green side facing up.
- Prepare a wick by cutting a strip of matting. Ensure one end of the wick reaches the bottom of your water reservoir (sink, bucket) and the other end overlaps the capillary matting by at least 3 cm.
- Place the reservoir and the matting so the wick can draw water effectively.
- Initially, water the matting and the plants directly to activate the capillary action.
Compatibility:
This matting is compatible with most standard plant pots that allow for water absorption through their base or drainage holes. It requires a non-moving water source like a sink, large container, or specialized reservoir.
Care:
- Regularly check and refill the water reservoir to ensure continuous moisture flow.
- Rinse the matting periodically if it becomes soiled or shows signs of algae. Allow it to dry completely before re-use.
- Store in a dry place when not in use to prolong its lifespan.
