Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or old finishes. If the wood is unfinished, a light sanding with fine-grit sandpaper (e.g., P120-P180) is recommended. For previously finished surfaces, ensure they are thoroughly cleaned and degreased.
Compatibility: Osmo Polyx-Oil Original is suitable for solid wood, plank, parquet, laminate, and cork flooring. It can also be used on doors and furniture made from wood. Test on an inconspicuous area first, especially if unsure about the wood type or existing finish.
Care: To maintain the finish, clean spills immediately. For general cleaning, use a damp (not wet) mop or cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Periodically, or if the finish appears dull or worn in high-traffic areas, apply a thin coat of Osmo Polyx-Oil (using the appropriate sheen) or Osmo Wash and Care for regular maintenance. For extensive wear, a full re-oiling may be necessary after thorough cleaning and light sanding.
