Denso Tape is a cold applied tape that remains plastic over a wide temperature range, meaning it is non-hardening and non-cracking. It offers high resistance to mineral acids, alkalis, salts, and micro-organisms, and is highly impermeable to water, water vapour, and gases. This tape is ideal for protecting buried or exposed pipes, rods, cables, valves, and metal fittings from corrosion. It is composed of a non-woven synthetic fibre fabric impregnated and coated with a neutral compound based on saturated petroleum hydrocarbons and inert siliceous fillers. Key specifications include a breaking strength of 200 N/50mm minimum, 10% elongation at break, and a breakdown voltage of 16kV. The tape has an application temperature range of -5°C to 45°C and a maximum service temperature of 55°C, with a thickness of 1.15mm. It is available in a UK size of 50mm x 10m.
