Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation
The Smeg KV394N can be installed as either a ducted or recirculating hood. For ducted installations, a 150mm vent outlet is required, and you may need to purchase optional vent kits (e.g., SP150 or SP150FLAT). For recirculating installations, you'll need to install optional active charcoal filters.
Compatibility
Ensure that your hob is compatible with the hood's Auto-Vent 2.0 feature to take advantage of automatic fan speed adjustments. The hood is designed to be mounted on the wall above your hob. The minimum distance from an electric hob is 45 cm, and from a gas hob is 65 cm.
Care
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the grease filter (aluminum/charcoal) to maintain optimal performance. The filter cleaning indicator will alert you when cleaning is needed. Use warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
- Wiping: Wipe down the hood's exterior with a damp cloth to remove any grease or splatters. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
- Filter Replacement: Replace the active charcoal filters periodically (if using the recirculating method) to maintain air purification efficiency.
