Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up your WoodWick Ellipse Candle is straightforward, focusing primarily on proper burning techniques to maximize its lifespan and scent quality.
Initial Burn: For the first burn, allow the candle to burn long enough for the melted wax pool to reach the edges of the container. This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn for the life of the candle.
Wick Trimming: Before each use, trim the wooden wick to approximately 1/4 inch. This helps to reduce soot and ensures a steady flame. If the flame becomes too large or flickers excessively, extinguish the candle, let it cool, trim the wick, and relight.
Extinguishing: Use a snuffer or gently press the flame with the wooden wick dipper to extinguish. Avoid blowing out the flame, as this can cause smoke and soot.
Cleaning: Once the candle is completely cool and the wax has solidified, the glass container can be cleaned with warm, soapy water. Ensure it is thoroughly dry before refilling or repurposing.
Safety: Always burn candles on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, flammable materials, children, and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
