Product Information
Full details
Vitax Perlite is a naturally occurring volcanic rock which, when heated to high temperatures, produces lightweight micro-porous granules. When mixed with compost, Perlite holds water and nutrients in the compost, producing a healthier growing media. Perlite can be used alone for seed germination, mixed with compost to improve water and nutrient holding capacity, or mixed with soil when planting out to help hold water and nutrients close to the root system. It improves aeration, moisture retention, and drainage in composts, stimulating root development and growth. Before use, dampen Perlite to reduce dust. If using the whole bag, add about a litre of water and allow to soak.
