Various sizes and needle types are available. Most packs contain 6 needles, with some exceptions like Ballpoint 100's and Jeans Heavy Mixed (90, 100) containing 5 needles. The Universal x 10 pack includes 10 needles (60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110). Ballpoint needles are designed for cotton knits, interlock rib knits, fleece, double knit, ultra-suede and most other knit fabrics, best used with polyester or lightweight cotton. Their rounded tip prevents laddering or running by separating fibers. Stretch needles are ideal for knits with two-way stretch, including Lycra and rubber in swimwear and lingerie, as well as for sewing elastic. They feature a specially designed scarf to prevent skipped stitches and are best used with texturised nylon or polyester thread.
