Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation
- Ensure the engine is completely cool before starting.
- Remove the plastic engine cover to expose the ignition coils.
- Disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the existing coil.
- Carefully pull the old coil out of the cylinder head (using a coil puller tool if tight).
- Push the new NGK 48409 coil into the spark plug cavity until it seats firmly.
- Reconnect the electrical harness until you hear a audible click.
Compatibility
This coil is compatible with various engines across Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Porsche, Cupra, and Bentley. Always cross-reference your specific engine code (found on the timing belt cover or vehicle data sticker) with the 48409 part number before installation.
Care
Keep the coil top and electrical connector free from oil and moisture. Do not apply dielectric grease inside the boot unless specifically recommended by your vehicle service manual, as it can sometimes interfere with the connection.
