The Sony ALC-F405S is an essential accessory for photographers using the Sony SELP1650 16-50mm retractable zoom lens who want to keep their optics in pristine condition. It provides a reliable shield against dust, grit, and accidental surface scratches during transit or storage. While it offers a perfect fit for its designated lens, users should verify their lens filter thread size before purchase, as it is specifically designed for 40.5mm diameters.

While the diameter is 40.5mm, it is optimized for the Sony SELP1650. It may fit other 40.5mm lenses, but we recommend verifying your lens specifications.
It provides basic protection from light dust and contact, but it is not a hermetic seal against water or heavy rain.
If you have a 40.5mm filter attached to your lens, the cap should fit over the filter if the filter also has a standard internal mount.
It is manufactured from durable ABS synthetics.
No, this model does not include a lens cap leash.
Check the inner groove of the lens filter thread for accumulated dirt or grit that may be preventing the cap from snapping in fully.
Ensure you are using the cap on a 40.5mm lens; forcing it onto a different diameter may damage the cap or the lens filter threads.
To install, simply align the cap with the front of your 40.5mm lens and press the center tabs until it clicks into place. The cap is designed exclusively for the Sony SELP1650 lens. To maintain the cap, wipe it occasionally with a microfibre cloth to remove oils or dirt. If the cap becomes loose over time, ensure there is no debris caught in the locking mechanism around the inner rim of the lens.
