Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
These screws are designed for direct use with a compatible driver bit. Ensure you are using a TX (Torx) drive bit of the correct size, typically a TX25 for this screw dimension. The precision TX drive recess minimizes cam-out, so ensure a firm engagement between the bit and the screw head before driving.
Compatibility:
- Material: Primarily intended for timber-to-timber applications. They are not recommended for metal, masonry, or plastic.
- Tools: Requires a power drill or impact driver equipped with a TX25 bit.
Care:
- Storage: Store screws in a dry environment to maintain the integrity of the lubricant coating and prevent premature corrosion.
- Installation: Avoid over-driving screws, as this can strip the timber or damage the screw head, despite the cam-out resistance.
- Cleaning: No specific cleaning is required for the screws themselves. If installed in an exposed environment, ensure the surrounding timber is maintained to prevent moisture-related issues that could affect the overall structure.
