Product Information

Full details

The AB Tools Extra Long Torx Star Screwdriver Set is designed for automotive technicians, engineers, and DIY enthusiasts who require precise access to deep-seated fasteners in confined spaces. Its primary benefit is the 360mm total length, which provides unparalleled reach compared to standard screwdrivers; however, users should be aware that the slender, long shafts are intended for reaching restricted areas rather than heavy-duty prying tasks that could cause bending.

FAQs

What is the total length of these screwdrivers?

The total length of each screwdriver in the set is 360mm.

Are the tips magnetized?

Yes, all six screwdrivers feature hardened, magnetic tips to hold screws securely.

What material are these made from?

They are manufactured from high-strength chrome vanadium steel.

Can I use these for heavy-duty prying?

No, these are precision fastening tools. Using them for prying can result in bending or damaging the long, slender shafts.

What sizes are included in the set?

The set includes T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, and T30.

How do I use the T-bar feature?

The handles have a slot through them where you can insert a secondary tool to gain extra leverage when turning stubborn screws.

Troubleshooting

Magnetic tip is failing to hold screws.

Wipe the tip with a clean, dry cloth to remove metal debris or grease that may be obstructing the magnetic field.

Difficulty loosening a tight bolt.

Insert a screwdriver or rod into the handle slot to use the tool as a T-handle for increased leverage.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent reach for deep, restricted engine bays or machinery components.
  • Magnetic tips make handling small screws significantly easier.
  • High-grade chrome vanadium steel offers high durability.
  • Handle design allows for T-bar leverage when extra force is needed.
  • Comfortable ergonomic grip reduces hand fatigue.

Cons

  • Long shaft design can be prone to flexing if excessive force is applied.
  • Requires careful storage due to the unconventional length of the drivers.
  • Not suitable for heavy-duty prying or leverage tasks outside of fastening.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

These drivers require no assembly—simply select the appropriate size for your Torx fastener. The set is compatible with all standard Torx and Star-head bolts across automotive, electronics, and appliance industries.

To ensure longevity:

  1. Keep the tips clean to maintain magnetic strength.
  2. After use, wipe the chrome shafts with a light oil cloth to prevent oxidation.
  3. Use the integrated handle slot to hang the tools on a pegboard, which keeps the long shafts straight and protected from bending in a cluttered tool chest.
