Compatibility:
This kit is designed for specific BMW models including 3 Series (F30, F31, F34), 4 Series (F32, F33, F36), 5 Series (F10, F11, F07), 6 Series (F12, F13, F06), X3 (F25), X4 (F26), X5 (F15), and X6 (F16) equipped with air conditioning and electric power steering. Always verify fitment using the vehicle's make and model tool or by contacting a parts specialist with your vehicle's VIN.
Setup (Installation):
- Safety First: Ensure the engine is off and cool. Disconnect the battery.
- Access: Locate the serpentine belt system. This may require removing other components or covers.
- Release Tension: Use the appropriate tool to release tension on the old belt using the tensioner.
- Remove Old Belt: Carefully remove the old V-ribbed belt.
- Inspect: Check all pulleys for smooth rotation and wear. Inspect the alternator freewheel clutch and replace if necessary.
- Install New Belt: Route the new belt according to the vehicle's belt routing diagram. Ensure it is correctly seated on all pulleys.
- Tension Belt: Apply tension to the new belt using the new tensioner from the kit.
- Final Checks: Double-check belt routing and tension. Reinstall any removed components.
- Reconnect Battery: Reconnect the battery and start the engine to check for proper operation and any unusual noises.
Care:
- Regularly inspect the drive belt for signs of wear, such as cracks, fraying, or glazing.
- Listen for any unusual noises (squealing, grinding) from the belt or pulley system.
- Replace the belt and tensioner as part of routine maintenance or when symptoms of wear appear, following the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.
