The ABUS Nautilus 180IB/50 is an ideal security solution for homeowners and outdoor enthusiasts looking to protect medium-value assets such as gates, sheds, and equipment in exposed environments. Featuring a 4-digit customizable combination and a highly corrosion-resistant build, it offers a reliable, keyless locking mechanism that stands up to harsh weather. One important caveat is that while the lock is highly durable, it features a security rating of 5, meaning it is designed for medium-risk scenarios rather than high-security industrial or vault-level protection.

Yes, the stainless steel internal components are designed to remain functional in outdoor conditions, though keeping the dial area clear of ice is recommended.
This model has a security level of 5, making it appropriate for medium-risk items like garden furniture, sheds, and gates.
No, the shackle is permanently attached to the body for structural integrity and anti-theft protection.
The product features a master-keyed type design for specific facility management, but for standard consumer versions, the focus is on the 4-digit numerical combination.
The padlock is 52 mm wide, 77 mm high, and 24 mm deep, with an 8 mm shackle diameter.
Clear any debris or salt buildup from the dial area and apply a small amount of non-greasy lock lubricant.
Because this is a secure combination lock, there is no master override code; ensure you keep a record of your code in a safe place.
Ensure the lock is in the correct unlocked position and press the shackle firmly into the body before pulling it out to release the locking tension.
Setting up the lock requires choosing a 4-digit code and following the manufacturer's instructions for the internal reset pin. Ensure you write your code down in a secure location during the initial setup. Compatibility-wise, the lock has a horizontal clearance of 2.5 cm and a vertical clearance of 2.6 cm; verify your intended hasp or chain opening accommodates these dimensions before purchase. For maintenance, while the lock is weatherproof, applying a light application of lubricant designed for locks once or twice a year will keep the wheels and shackle moving effortlessly in extreme temperatures.
