Ensure you are using an oil-based paint. Add white spirit gradually, mixing thoroughly. Check if the paint has expired or changed consistency significantly.

For very dried paint, multiple cleaning cycles or a stronger solvent might be needed. Ensure sufficient white spirit is used to dissolve the paint residue.

Ensure the cleaned item is thoroughly aired out. The odor should dissipate as the solvent evaporates completely.

This might occur if too much solvent was used or if the surface is sensitive. Always test in a small area first. Wipe the surface with a clean, dry cloth afterward.
