FAQs

Can I use Emeraid Omnivore for my healthy pet?

No. This is a therapeutic, semi-elemental diet formulated specifically for critically ill animals under veterinary supervision.

What species can use this food?

It is intended for omnivorous exotic animals, including many parrots, chickens, doves, rats, mice, squirrels, sugar gliders, and some lizard species.

Does it need to be refrigerated after mixing?

The prepared formula should be used immediately. It is not designed for long-term storage after mixing with water.

Can I mix this with Emeraid Herbivore?

Yes, the Emeraid System is designed for modular use, but you should only combine formulas under the direct instruction of your veterinarian.

Why is arginine and glutamine included?

These amino acids are added to support the accelerated recovery needs of critically ill animals and to provide essential building blocks for tissue repair.

Troubleshooting

Formula is clogging the feeding tube

Ensure the powder is thoroughly mixed with water and no clumps remain. Verify the water-to-powder ratio and consider filtering the mixture if larger particles are present.

Animal refuses the formula during syringe feeding

Consult your veterinarian regarding temperature preferences or potential additives to improve palatability, though do not deviate from the clinical protocol.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To prepare the formula, mix the powder with room-temperature water according to your veterinarian's specific ratio recommendations for the patient. Once mixed, the formula should be treated as a perishable item; discard any unused portions after a few hours to prevent bacterial growth. Store the dry powder in a cool, dry place to maintain shelf stability. This product is strictly for therapeutic use and should never be used as a primary diet for healthy animals without a specific medical indication.
