No, the design of these applicators allows you to achieve a neat finish without the need for masking tape.
The applicators are suitable for silicone, acrylic, and SMP (Soudal Mould Protect) sealants.
The triangular profile is generally used for internal corners, while the quadrant profile is ideal for creating a rounded seal, often used where a wall meets a tray or bath.
These tools are primarily designed for smoothing and modeling fresh sealant. For removing old sealant, a separate sealant removal tool is recommended.
Clean the applicators immediately after use with a damp cloth or sponge. Mild soap and water can be used for tougher residue.
Yes, they are designed for both DIY and professional tradespeople to achieve a high-quality finish.
Ensure the sealant bead is consistent before smoothing. Apply even pressure and a steady motion with the applicator. Practice on a scrap surface if needed.
Clean the applicator thoroughly after each pass. Lightly wetting the applicator tip with water can also help prevent sticking.
These applicators are primarily for smoothing new sealant. For old sealant removal, use a dedicated sealant removal tool or blade before applying new sealant.
Setup: No setup is required for the Tile Rite Silicone Applicators. Simply select the desired applicator profile (quadrant or triangular) for your joint type.
Compatibility: These tools are designed for use with standard silicone, acrylic, and SMP sealants. Ensure the sealant is fresh and has not begun to skin over for best results.
Care: After each use, clean the smoothers immediately with a damp cloth or sponge to remove excess sealant. For stubborn residue, a mild detergent can be used. Store the tools in a dry place to maintain their condition. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the plastic.
