Setup, Compatibility & Care
These tin snips require no setup; they are ready for immediate use out of the packaging. They are compatible with cold-rolled steel up to 1 mm thick and stainless steel (Inox) up to 0.6 mm thick.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe the blades clean with a dry cloth to remove any metal shavings or debris. For stubborn residue, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed immediately by a dry one.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a light coat of oil (e.g., mineral oil or tool oil) to the pivot point and cutting edges to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation.
- Storage: Store the snips in a dry environment to prevent corrosion. Avoid storing them with other tools that could dull the blades.
- Sharpening: If cutting performance diminishes, the induction-hardened edges can be professionally sharpened. Avoid attempting to sharpen them with standard files, as this can damage the specialized cutting edge.
