Latchways has revolutionized the rescue process with the development of the Latchways PRD. This lightweight, unobtrusive personal rescue device is an integrated full body harness system for self-rescue, contained in a small backpack attached to a full body harness. The PRD is designed to be used in conjunction with a fall protection system or anchor point. In the event of a fall, the device gently lowers the person to the ground in a controlled descent, dramatically reducing rescue time. It features a 20m descent height and a descent speed of 0.5-2m per second, with a worker capacity of up to 140kg. Certified to EN361:2002 for Personal protective equipment against falls from a height (Full body harnesses) and EN 341:2011 for Personal fall protection equipment (Descender devices for rescue).
