Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The ETERNUS JX40 is designed for direct attachment to certified Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers. Installation involves physically connecting the JX40 to the server using SAS cables and ensuring it is powered on. Drive installation is straightforward due to the 2.5-inch form factor and hot-swap bays. The storage is then managed and configured through the PRIMERGY server's operating system and its integrated SAS RAID controller, potentially via the Fujitsu ServerView Suite.
Compatibility: This storage subsystem is specifically optimized for Intel-based Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers. It uses standardized 2.5-inch SAS and SATA drives, ensuring compatibility with drives commonly used in PRIMERGY systems. Ensure your PRIMERGY server has the necessary SAS host bus adapter (HBA) or RAID controller with external ports to connect to the JX40.
Care: As the drives and power supply modules are hot-swappable, regular maintenance can be performed without downtime. Regularly check the LED indicators for any warnings or errors. Keep the operating environment within the specified temperature range (0-40 °C) and relative humidity (0-80%). Ensure proper ventilation around the unit and the connected server. When replacing a drive or power supply, follow the system's documented procedure to avoid data loss or system instability.
