Setup
- Preparation: Ensure the power supply is disconnected before working on any electrical wiring.
- Cable Selection: Choose the correct cable type and size compatible with the tool.
- Positioning: Place the cable into the stripping tool, ensuring it's properly aligned.
- Stripping: Close the tool and rotate it around the cable to score the insulation.
- Removal: Pull the cable out to remove the stripped insulation.
Compatibility
The Knipex Cable Stripping Tool is compatible with:
- Round cables with a diameter of 4-13mm.
- Flat cables up to 12mm wide.
- Wires with cross-sections of 0.8 / 1.5 / 2.5 mm² (AWG 20 / 16 / 14).
Care
- Cleaning: Wipe the tool clean after each use with a dry cloth.
- Storage: Store the tool in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
- Inspection: Regularly check the blades for damage or wear. Replace the tool if necessary.
