Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Assess the Damage: Evaluate the fence post and determine the extent of the damage. Ensure the post is still salvageable.
- Prepare the Area: Clear away any debris or vegetation around the base of the post.
- Position the Spur: Place the concrete repair spur against the damaged post, ensuring it aligns correctly.
- Secure the Spur: Use appropriate fixings (not included) to securely attach the repair spur to the existing fence post.
- Backfill: Fill the surrounding area with concrete to provide a solid base for the spur.
Compatibility
The Forest Garden Concrete Repair Spur is compatible with most fence types and post materials. It's particularly useful for wooden fence posts. Ensure that the fixings used are appropriate for the post material.
Care
- Regular Inspections: Periodically inspect the repair spurs for any signs of damage or wear.
- Maintain the Base: Keep the base of the posts clear of debris and excessive moisture to prevent rot.
- Avoid Overloading: Do not use the fence to support excessive weight or strain after repair.
