This evergreen plant features vibrant cerise or pink flowers, approximately 5 cm in diameter, earning it the nickname 'Rockrose'. It thrives in various soil types, including poor ones, and tolerates drought once established. The breathtaking cerise blooms consist of tissue-paper thin petals that last about a day, but are quickly replaced by new buds. It has green-grey, oblong leaves with wavy margins, measuring around 5 cm long. This low-spreading shrub requires minimal pruning to remove seed heads and can tolerate winter temperatures as low as -10°C. Its drought tolerance makes it suitable for ground cover on dry embankments and slopes, and it also adds beauty to cottage gardens, smaller city gardens, and courtyards.
