This speaker cable has a maximum current rating of 15A.
This cable is specifically designed for 100V line PA systems. While it may function with some home stereo systems, it's not its intended application and may not provide optimal performance. Standard home stereo systems typically use lower impedance (e.g., 4 or 8 ohm) connections.
A 100V line system is a method of distributing audio power over long distances in PA systems. It uses a high voltage and low current to reduce signal loss. Transformers are used at the amplifier output and speaker inputs to step the voltage up and down.
The cable has red and black inner conductors. Use the red conductor for the positive (+) terminal and the black conductor for the negative (-) terminal on both your amplifier and speaker.
The conductors are stranded copper, with the composition specified as 2 x (25 x 0.18mm² Cu + 20 x 0.18mm² CCA), indicating a mix of copper and copper-clad aluminum strands.
The black PVC sheath provides protection, making it suitable for many outdoor PA installations. However, ensure it is adequately protected from direct sunlight, extreme weather, and physical damage where necessary.
Verify connections are secure at both the amplifier and speaker. Check that the red conductor is connected to positive (+) and the black to negative (-) on both ends. Ensure the amplifier is powered on and configured for 100V line output.
Inspect the cable for any physical damage or kinks. Ensure all connections are tight and free from corrosion. Test with a different speaker cable to rule out a cable fault.
Immediately disconnect power. Check the total power load of the connected speakers and compare it to the amplifier's output and the cable's 15A maximum current rating. Reduce the load if it exceeds specifications.
