FAQs

Can this hearth pad be used with a gas fireplace?

No, this product is designed exclusively for electric fires and stoves. It is not heat-rated for gas or solid-fuel fires.

Does it require professional installation?

No, the pad is a freestanding accessory. Simply place it on the floor where you intend to position your electric stove.

Will this work on high-pile carpet?

Yes, it provides a stable base on carpeted floors, though ensure the floor surface underneath the carpet is level.

What are the exact dimensions?

The pad measures 80cm in width, 38cm in depth, and has a height of 1.5cm.

How do I clean the slate effect surface?

Use a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges or chemical cleaners.

Is the finish textured?

The pad features a realistic slate-effect finish designed to look and feel like natural slate.

Troubleshooting

The pad feels unstable on the floor.

Ensure the floor underneath is perfectly level; if placed on thick carpet, consider a firm board underneath if needed for extra rigidity.

The stove feet are slipping.

Ensure the stove is centered properly on the pad. If the stove has rubber feet, ensure they are clean to maximize friction against the pad surface.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Adds an authentic traditional fireplace aesthetic to any room
  • Works well on both carpeted and hard floor surfaces
  • Low-profile 1.5cm design keeps the stove stable without creating a tripping hazard
  • Simple, non-permanent installation
  • Lightweight yet durable construction

Cons

  • Compatible only with electric fires; not suitable for gas or wood-burning stoves
  • Fixed rectangular dimensions may not fit all custom stove sizes
  • Limited to decorative slate-effect finish

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation of the hearth pad is straightforward: simply place the pad on your chosen flat surface and center your electric stove on top of it. Because of its 1.5cm height, it is designed to be low-profile and stable. When choosing a location, ensure the floor is level to maximize the pad's stability. Regarding compatibility, this product is designed strictly for electric fires and stoves. To maintain the appearance of the slate-effect surface, gently wipe it with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth to remove dust. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the finish over time.
