Product Information

Full details

The Sonik BANK-TEK Bivvy 2-Man is designed for dedicated carp anglers who require a spacious, durable, and highly weather-resistant shelter for extended sessions. By utilizing a flat-back design and a robust 19mm D-section aluminum frame, it maximizes internal headroom and floor space, ensuring comfort during long waits at the bank; however, its size and heavy-duty components mean it requires a two-person setup efficiency and more storage space than ultra-lightweight pop-up shelters.

FAQs

What is the peak internal height?

The bivvy features an internal height of 1.74m.

Is the groundsheet removable?

Yes, the Tuff-lite groundsheet is designed to be durable and can be removed for cleaning or transport.

Can I use this for solo sessions?

Yes, while it is a 2-man design, many anglers prefer the extra space for gear and comfort during long solo sessions.

How do I clean the fabric?

Use a damp sponge or cloth with cold water. Avoid harsh chemicals or soaps, as they may compromise the 10,000HH waterproof coating.

Does it come with pegs?

Yes, the package includes heavy-duty T-pegs.

Is the material breathable?

The 10,000HH fabric is waterproof; condensation management is handled primarily through the large rear ventilation panels.

Troubleshooting

Bivvy feels unstable in high winds

Ensure all heavy-duty T-pegs are fully driven in and that the tension straps are pulled tight to maintain frame integrity.

Excessive condensation inside

Open the rear ventilation panels to facilitate better airflow and ensure the front door options are not fully sealed if conditions allow.

Difficulty zipping the carry bag

Ensure the bivvy is folded evenly and all air is squeezed out of the fabric before rolling it up to reduce its bulk.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Maximum internal height of 1.74m provides excellent headroom
Sturdy 19mm D-section aluminum frame construction
High-spec 10,000HH waterproofing
Flat-back profile optimizes internal space layout
Excellent ventilation options for summer sessions

Cons

Larger footprint requires more swim space
Heavier than single-man bivvy models
Requires more time to pack down and clean due to its size

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup is intuitive due to the lightweight frame, but for the best results, stake the four corners of the groundsheet first to square up the structure. Once the frame is locked into position, ensure the tension straps are adjusted to maintain the shape of the canopy. To ensure longevity, always wipe down the 10,000HH fabric with a damp cloth to remove mud and debris before packing. Never store the bivvy while damp to prevent mold growth; always allow the material to air dry completely at home. Use the included oversized carry bag to ensure the material isn't forced or stretched during storage.
