Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These hinges are designed for surface mounting. Align the hinge on the door and frame (or cabinet and carcase) where you want it positioned. Use a pencil to mark the screw hole locations through the countersunk holes. Ensure the screws are suitable for the material you are attaching the hinges to. Drive the included screws through the marked holes to secure the hinge. Repeat for all hinges needed for the door.
Compatibility: The 6-inch (152mm) T hinges are best suited for doors and gates with a moderate to heavy weight. They are compatible with wood, metal, or composite materials, provided appropriate fixings are used. Ensure the surface they are mounted to is rigid enough to support the door and hinge.
Care: To maintain the finish and functionality, periodically wipe the hinges with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using abrasive cleaners that could damage the zinc plating. For outdoor applications, occasional inspection for any signs of wear or corrosion is recommended. A light application of oil may be considered for very harsh environments, though the zinc plating provides substantial protection.
