Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The AEG ILB64334CB Induction Hob features a Plug&Play design for remarkably easy installation.
- Unpack the hob carefully, retaining all packaging.
- Ensure the countertop cutout dimensions are compatible (W 560 mm x D 490 mm, typical for 60cm hobs - Info needed: exact cutout dimensions from manual). The hob's product dimensions are 44 x 590 x 520 mm (HxWxD).
- Simply plug the pre-installed UK moulded 13A plug into a standard electrical socket. No complex hardwiring or fuser units are typically required.
- Place the hob into the prepared cutout, ensuring it's flush and secure.
Compatibility
- Cookware: Induction hobs require specific cookware with a ferromagnetic base. Check if a magnet sticks firmly to the bottom of your pots and pans. Cast iron, enamel-on-steel, and some stainless steel cookware are generally compatible. Aluminium, copper, and glass cookware are not compatible unless they have an induction-specific base.
- Ventilation: For the Hob2Hood function to work, you will need a compatible AEG cooker hood.
- Electrical: Requires a standard UK 13A electrical socket.
Care
- Daily Cleaning: The glass ceramic surface stays relatively cool around cooking zones. This allows for immediate cleanup of spills and splatters with a damp cloth or sponge, preventing food from burning onto the surface.
- Deep Cleaning: For stubborn marks or residues, use a ceramic hob cleaner specifically designed for glass surfaces. Apply a small amount and gently rub with a soft cloth or paper towel, then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
- Maintenance: Regularly check the ventilation slots around the hob for any obstructions to ensure proper airflow. Avoid using abrasive sponges, scourers, or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can scratch or damage the glass surface. Always ensure the hob is cool before cleaning.
