It is recommended to clean the filter media every 4-6 weeks, or as needed, depending on your tank's bio-load.

The filter should be placed below the aquarium, ideally in a cabinet or stand.

Attach hosing to the output, and direct the water to a drain. (Note: Hosing kit is sold separately).

You can use a combination of mechanical, chemical, and biological media. The FX4 includes media baskets designed to hold these various types of media.

Smart Pump technology uses an advanced microchip to monitor and optimize pump performance. It also helps to evacuate trapped air every 12 hours.
