FAQs

Does this box come with a lid?

No, the Muji Soft Storage Box is an open-top design for quick access to your stored items.

Can I store heavy books in this box?

Yes, as long as the total weight of the contents does not exceed the 10kg capacity rating.

Is the material machine washable?

No, the product is not designed for machine washing. Spot cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended.

Will it fit inside a standard bookshelf?

With external dimensions of 37cm x 26cm x 26cm, it fits most standard bookshelf cubbies that are at least 27cm deep and 27cm high.

What happens if the box gets wet?

The inner coating is moisture-resistant, but the outer fabric is not waterproof. Dry the surface immediately if exposed to liquids.

Troubleshooting

Box walls appear slightly bowed or out of shape.

Ensure the bottom support panel is pressed firmly and evenly into the base corners to provide structural tension.

Interior lining has a smudge or spill.

Use a damp, lint-free cloth with mild soap and immediately wipe dry; avoid saturating the fabric.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Foldable structure allows for space-efficient storage when empty
Moisture-resistant inner lining facilitates easy cleaning
Strong 10kg weight capacity accommodates books, toys, and linens
Neutral design coordinates with various Muji and non-Muji home goods
Precise dimensions fit standard shelving units

Cons

Soft-sided material lacks the rigidity of hard plastic or wooden bins
Lid is not included, leaving contents exposed to dust
Not suitable for stacking very heavy items on top of the container
Surface can be prone to staining if exposed to harsh chemicals

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up, simply unfold the box and press the bottom panel into place to lock the structure. No assembly tools are required. Regarding compatibility, the 37cm length is optimized for most standard wardrobe shelving and cubby storage systems. For care, avoid using abrasive sponges or heavy solvents, as these may damage the protective inner coating. Regularly wipe down the exterior with a dry cloth to prevent dust buildup, and spot-clean the interior with a soft, damp cloth if needed.
