TIMCO Slate Hooks are essential fasteners for professional roofers and DIY enthusiasts looking for a reliable method to secure slate tiles to timber battens during roof repairs or replacements. These hooks offer a robust alternative to traditional copper clout nails by providing a stable, point-driven hold that significantly improves the integrity of slate installations. While they are highly effective for securing individual slates, users should note that they require precise placement to maintain the correct aesthetic and structural alignment across a roof surface.

No, these hooks are specifically designed for timber battens and will not provide a secure hold on metal structures.
Each pack contains 500 individual pieces.
Yes, their high-quality construction and corrosion resistance make them ideal for exposed or coastal roofing environments.
These hooks feature a 2.7mm diameter.
They feature a black-grey finish corresponding to RAL 7021.
Standard roofing hand tools are sufficient for installation, though care should be taken to drive them accurately.
Ensure you are driving the hook into sound timber; if the batten is rotten, replace the batten section before installation.
Ensure the hook is positioned correctly under the slate overlap so that only the discreet grey tip remains visible.
To install TIMCO Slate Hooks, identify the timber batten location beneath the slate. Insert the hook so that the point secures firmly into the timber, ensuring the hook tail cradles the bottom edge of the slate. These hooks are designed specifically for timber batten compatibility. To maintain the integrity of the roof, avoid bending the hooks repeatedly, as metal fatigue can weaken the hold. Store the remaining hooks in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture exposure until your next project.
