Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
The Aico Ei208 is designed for straightforward installation. It typically comes with mounting hardware. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for optimal placement, ensuring it is at an appropriate height and distance from potential CO sources and ventilation.
Compatibility:
This device is designed as a standalone carbon monoxide alarm. It does not interface with smart home systems or other alarms directly. Ensure placement complies with local building codes and safety recommendations.
Care:
- Regular Testing: Test the alarm weekly using the test button to ensure the siren and electronics are functioning correctly.
- Cleaning: Dust can affect sensor performance. Gently vacuum the exterior of the alarm with a soft brush attachment on a monthly basis, or as needed.
- Environment: Avoid installing in areas with high humidity, excessive dust, or near exhausts, as these can affect performance or trigger false alarms.
- End of Life: The unit is powered by a sealed lithium battery. Once the battery reaches the end of its life, the alarm will typically sound a specific signal (refer to the user manual) and the entire unit must be replaced.
