Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper setup and care ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Art Studio Acrylic Paints and tools.
Initial Setup
- Shake Well: Before opening, gently shake the bottle to ensure the pigments are well-mixed, especially if the paint has been stored for a while.
- Prepare Your Palette: Squeeze a small amount of desired colors onto a non-porous palette (plastic, ceramic, or a disposable palette paper works well).
- Gather Tools: Have your brushes, water container, and paper towels ready before you begin painting.
Compatibility
Art Studio Acrylic Paints are compatible with most standard acrylic mediums such as:
- Gels & Pastes: To add texture or increase body.
- Flow Improvers: To reduce brush strokes and increase fluidity.
- Retarders: To slow down drying time for extended blending.
- Varnishes: For protection and desired finish (matte, satin, gloss) after the artwork is fully dry.
Cleaning and Storage
- Brush Care: Clean brushes immediately after use with soap and water. Reshape bristles and allow them to air dry flat or brush-side up.
- Palette Care: Scrape off excess paint and wash palettes with soap and water. Dried acrylic can be difficult to remove.
- Storing Paints: Keep paint bottles tightly capped to prevent drying out. Store them upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
