The RST RTR88A is a versatile hand tool designed for small-scale brickwork projects, offering a dual-purpose design with a trowel on one end and a squaring profile on the other. Its primary benefit is providing two essential masonry functions in a single, durable tool, making it ideal for detailed pointing and cementing tasks. A potential caveat is its size, which may be best suited for smaller hands or intricate work rather than large-scale applications.

Yes, its dual functionality and manageable size make it a good tool for beginners undertaking small masonry tasks.
The tool features a profiled handle designed for a comfortable and secure grip, though it does not have an additional rubber or ergonomic grip material.
Ensure the trowel end is clean and free of hardened material. Verify that the mortar consistency is appropriate for the task.
Make sure the squared end is clean and its edges are not worn. Practice striking the joint with a consistent pressure and angle.
Consider using gloves for added comfort. Ensure you are holding the tool with a relaxed grip on the handle portion.
