The Scheppach PCS38 is a professional-grade 14-inch petrol chainsaw designed for homeowners and gardeners who need a reliable tool for firewood preparation and general tree maintenance. It balances power and efficiency with a 1.8HP engine and user-friendly features like an easy-start system and anti-vibration technology, though users should be prepared for the maintenance requirements inherent to a petrol-powered engine.

This chainsaw requires a mixture of petrol and two-stroke engine oil. Please refer to your manual for the specific manufacturer-recommended ratio.
The chain should be sharpened whenever you notice it is no longer pulling itself into the wood or if it starts producing sawdust rather than wood chips.
Yes, the PCS38 features a tool-free tensioning system for quick and convenient adjustments.
The Scheppach PCS38 is equipped with a 14-inch cutting bar.
It uses dampening components between the engine and the handles to absorb mechanical vibrations, significantly reducing the impact on the user's hands and arms.
Check that the ignition switch is on, ensure there is fresh fuel, and verify the spark plug connection.
Check if the chain is dull and needs sharpening, or if the tension is too loose.
Check your fuel-to-oil mixture ratio; too much oil in the mix can cause smoking.
To set up the PCS38, ensure the chain is correctly seated on the bar and tensioned using the tool-free adjustment dial until snug. Always use high-quality two-stroke oil mixed with petrol at the correct ratio specified in your manual. Compatibility-wise, the 14-inch bar is optimized for the power output of this specific engine. For maintenance, clean the air filter regularly to prevent performance loss, inspect the chain for dull teeth, and clear any sawdust buildup from the sprocket cover after every use to ensure smooth operation.
