Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Preparation: Clean the surfaces of the pipes thoroughly before applying the flux. Use a wire brush or emery cloth to remove any oxidation or debris.
- Application: Apply a thin, even layer of LA-CO Soldering Flux Paste to the pipe ends. Avoid getting flux inside the pipes.
- Soldering: Heat the pipes to the correct temperature for the solder you are using. Apply the solder to the joint, allowing it to flow around the connection.
- Cleaning: After soldering, remove any excess flux with a damp cloth.
Compatibility: This flux is compatible with copper, brass, galvanized iron, lead, zinc, tin, silver, nickel, mild steel, terne plate, and malleable iron. It is *not* compatible with stainless steel or aluminum.
Care: Store the flux in a cool, dry place. Ensure the container is tightly closed when not in use to prevent it from drying out.
