Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Staub Cocotte, follow these guidelines:
- Hob Compatibility: The base is compatible with all stove types, including gas, electric, glass-ceramic, and induction hobs.
- Initial Use: While the enamel is ready for use immediately, it is recommended to wash the cocotte with warm, soapy water before its first cooking session.
- Heat Management: Always use low to medium heat settings. High heat can cause the enamel to crack or food to scorch. Avoid thermal shock by not placing a hot cocotte directly into ice water.
- Tools: Use silicone or wooden utensils to protect the enamel interior from scratches.
- Cleaning: Allow the pot to cool completely before washing. Hand washing is highly recommended to maintain the luster of the Sorbet Rose glaze, although it is durable enough to withstand standard kitchen use.
