Product Information

Full details

The Lugg 8-piece compression packing set is designed for frequent travelers, backpackers, and organized commuters who want to maximize suitcase capacity and eliminate clutter. By utilizing a dual-zip system to condense clothing, these cubes allow you to pack significantly more in a smaller footprint; however, users should be mindful not to overstuff the cubes, as extreme pressure can eventually strain the zipper mechanisms.

FAQs

Can I use these cubes in a backpack?

Yes, the varied sizes make them ideal for organizing both large travel backpacks and standard suitcases.

Are the cubes waterproof?

They are water-resistant, which protects against light rain or liquid spills, but they are not intended to be submerged in water.

How should I clean the cubes?

We recommend spot cleaning with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid putting them in the washing machine or dryer.

Will these help prevent wrinkles?

Yes, by keeping clothes tightly packed and stationary, they prevent the shifting that typically causes wrinkles.

What is the largest cube size used for?

The XL cube is best for bulky items like sweaters, jackets, or several pairs of trousers.

Does the set include a place for dirty laundry?

Yes, the included drawstring bag is perfect for separating dirty laundry from clean clothes during your trip.

Troubleshooting

The compression zipper is hard to pull shut

The cube is likely overfilled. Remove one or two items and ensure the clothing is evenly distributed before attempting to zip again.

Fabric looks strained or stressed

Reduce the volume of contents. While durable, excessive tension can cause fabric seams to fray over time.

Zipper track snagging on fabric

Ensure that no loose fabric or loose threads are caught in the teeth of the zipper while closing.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Significantly increases available luggage space
  • Organizes small items and shoes in dedicated bags
  • Lightweight design adds minimal bulk to total luggage weight
  • Easy to clean material is suitable for beach and camping use
  • Keeps clothing compressed to minimize wrinkling

Cons

  • Zipper durability can be tested if the cube is heavily overpacked
  • Compression limits depend on the fabric thickness of the clothing inside
  • Requires manual effort to fold and zip the compression track

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setting up your Lugg packing cubes is straightforward: sort your items by type and size before assigning them to the appropriate cube. The set is compatible with almost all suitcase brands, regardless of whether you use hard-shell or soft-sided luggage. To maintain the set, simply wipe the cubes down with a damp cloth if they get dirty. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or machine washing, as this may compromise the water-resistant coating and the integrity of the compression zippers over time.
