Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Connect one RJ-45 connector to your network device (e.g., computer, router, switch).
- Connect the other RJ-45 connector to the corresponding network port on your router, switch, or wall jack.
- Ensure the connectors click securely into place.
Compatibility:
This Cat6 cable is backward compatible with Cat5e and Cat5 standards, meaning it can be used with devices that have RJ-45 ports regardless of their network category. It is compatible with all standard networking equipment, including routers, switches, modems, computers, gaming consoles, and smart TVs.
Care:
- Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the cable, as this can damage the internal conductors.
- Keep the cable away from sources of extreme heat or moisture.
- Clean the connectors periodically with a dry, lint-free cloth if they appear dusty. Do not use liquids.
- Store the cable loosely coiled if not in use, avoiding tight wraps around the connectors.
