Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: This cable features standard RJ45 male connectors on both ends. Simply plug one end into your network device (e.g., router, switch, computer, game console) and the other end into the corresponding port on your network equipment. Ensure the connectors click securely into place.
Compatibility: The Cat 6 standard ensures compatibility with Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) networks. It is also backward compatible with Cat 5e and Cat 5 devices and networks. It will work with any standard Ethernet port found on most modern computing devices, routers, switches, and network-attached storage (NAS) devices.
Care:
- Avoid sharp bends or kinks, especially near the connectors, to prevent internal wire damage.
- If running the cable under carpets or flooring, ensure it is not subjected to excessive weight or constant pressure, which could eventually damage the flat profile.
- Clean connectors gently with a dry, lint-free cloth if they appear dusty. Avoid using liquid cleaners directly on the connectors.
- Store the cable loosely coiled if not in use, avoiding tight wraps that could stress the conductors.
