The Holbein Watercolor Palette includes 26 small petri dishes and 4 large petri dishes.

When opened, the palette measures approximately W270 x D270 x H15mm.

When closed, the palette measures approximately W270 x D135 x H30mm.

This palette is primarily designed for watercolors. While gouache can be used, acrylics are not recommended as they can permanently adhere to the plastic and are difficult to clean once dried.

It is not recommended to put the petri dishes in a dishwasher, as high heat and harsh detergents may damage or warp the plastic. Handwashing with mild soap and water is the preferred method.

Allow excess water to drain from your paints before closing. Ensure no paint is on the rim of the dishes or the palette base. Store the palette flat to minimize the risk of minor leakage.

Additional petri dishes may be available from specialty art supply retailers. Please check with your local art store or online art supply vendors.

Ensure you are placing the correct size (small or large) in the corresponding slot. Apply gentle, even pressure to seat the dish. If a dish seems warped, check for any debris in the slot.

Re-wet the dried paints with a small amount of water using a brush. Allow them to sit for a minute to soften before attempting to use them.

Check for any excess paint or water on the rims of the petri dishes or the palette edge. Ensure no dishes are sticking up higher than the base. Clear any obstructions before closing.

Gently try to lift one edge of the dish with your fingernail or a non-sharp tool. Avoid excessive force. If paint has dried around the edges, a little water may help loosen it.
