This WH-R8170 TL carbon clincher disc brake is designed to meet pro road race criteria. It features a lightweight, full carbon 60 mm deep rim for improved aerodynamics, increased rigidity, and excellent inertia, making it ideal for sprinters and TT specialists. The wheel utilizes stainless steel butted and bladed straight pull spokes for optimal balance and rigidity, with elbow-less spokes offering strength and compliance. High lateral rigidity is achieved through wide flange spacing. The labyrinth double-contact sealing effectively prevents water and dirt ingress. It has an alloy cone with integrated steel Borozon treated bearing races for reduced friction and a cold forged, machined aluminum hub shell with an oversized 7075 alloy axle to minimize weight. The wheel is compatible with Center Lock rotor mounts, 100 x 12 mm axles, and 700C clincher tires.
